All Things New

Behold not the former things

Look ahead to unknown skies

For the God of the earth and sea

Is speaking life into the night

So open up your gates before him

Let his kingdom come

Hallelujah, hail King Jesus

He comes to make us new

He comes to make us new

Hallelujah, God is for us

He’s making all things new

He’s making all things new

Believe in the work of Christ

The master craftsman on the cross

We are saved by his sacrifice

New creations in his love

He will be our God

We will dwell with him

He will right the wrongs

All creation born again

Our Cup Overflows

Sometimes we see the world through prisms of light

Each breath of life you give like a beautiful gift

Rivers of blessing flow in simple delights

Despite the onset of night

Sweet Lord of Abundance

You set up the feast

You call out our rivals

And command them to cease

In valleys of darkness

Still we raise a toast

Right here in your presence

Our cup overflows

The day of trouble comes like a thief in the night

It feels like justice falls like pictures off the wall

When all is broken and our fear overrides

Run to the table of life

We might be crippled but we’ve come to the King

So undeserving but his mercy runs free

He dresses us with a new robe and a ring

With open hands we receive

Evergreen

Heavy chest and shallow breath

A twist of threads I’m here again

Wandering mind of fear and fret

Oh my God I need you

You lay peace upon my shoulders

You crown my head with evergreen rest

You lead me beside still waters

Here with you I am content

Darkness flees from gentle light

I retire my tired guard

You have come to lift my eyes

And calm the racing of my heart

Jesus your yoke is easy

You lift my heavy load

You are my stable anchor

You are my steady hope

Abounding

When our minds are full of noise

And our hearts are prone to wander

Overcome by apathy

Losing sight of what most matters

There’s a joy that’s abounding

And a peace overflowing

From your heart to the broken

So we sing hallelujah

See the walls that are breaking

Hear the sound of awakening

When we stand in your presence

We will shout hallelujah

When our strength is wearing thin

And our faith is dry like deserts

He is working deep within

Filling up the empty cisterns

Whatever is true

Whatever is lovely

Whatever is pure

Whatever is holy

Fill my mind, fill my mind

Burning Bush

A burning bush on the side of the mountain

A cloud of smoke in the dead of night

A well of water from a rock split open

His presence roaming in the open wilds

Tear down all of the temples

Look for the Kingdom here in your midst

Make straight all of the mountains

Heaven is open, heaven is here

A prophet cries in the depths of the desert

A dove descends from open skies

A man with power over death and demons

Incarnate one in the open wilds

You can’t be claimed by king or country

Your harvest knows no boundary lines

Your kingdom comes to the poor and weary

Your goodness flows in the open wilds

Foreign Man

I remember hateful glances

Remember crooked stares

I still recall the judgement

I could taste it on the air

Pathetic oil drum fires

That couldn’t kill the cold

And lying down for sleep at night alone

I was a foreign man

I was an orphan

I was a widowed wife

I was a wayward son

I was an alien

Body and soul defiled

When you drew me from the fire

And seated me at your table

It was survival of the fittest

But I had long since died

And given up on any hope to make something of my life

We were hollow ghosts of men

Who couldn’t catch a break

When all we’d ever learned was how to take

I once was blind but now all I can see

The bruises of abuses, the homeless refugees

I was once blind but now all I can see

The hungry tears of children longing just to eat

Let them join the feast…
